Latest Product Releases: Analytics & Dashboard Creation on Smart Contract Data is Simpler & Faster Now

The team at Dapplooker has yet again pushed Dapplooker further into the path of optimization and user-centricity, thanks to the new features that have been added to the website. The following is a snapshot of these exciting product releases ⚡️

Dashboards are a lot easier to build 🚀

There are two major upgrades:

Improved way to add charts to dashboards : With the new upgrade you can now open a sidebar to search for and add as many charts as you like. Earlier charts could be added only one at a time.

Improved Reordering and Resizing : Charts on the dashboard automatically move away to make space for the placement of the card that is moved or resized.

Result downloads are Fully-Formatted Now 📈

Dapplooker now honours all of the formatting you specify in the chart when you download the results of a chart as Excel. Date and currency formats, as well as column ordering and visibility, are all preserved. In XLSX, columns will even resize themselves! Renamed columns are now also supported in CSV and JSON.

Intuitive way to start new charts from Saved SQL results 📊

Now results of a saved SQL queries can be used as a starting point for a new one. SQL can be used to create tables and that query can be saved as a question, the results of which other people can explore using the graphical query builder.

A handy “Explore Results” button will be present that uses the graphical query builder with SQL results that have been loaded from before.

Improved data selection ⚡

Data selection has become easier as the search bar in the data picker has been overhauled for new charts. Now instead of simply filtering the list, the search bar goes through all saved tables and charts.

Optimized and Improved Search Bar

More Enhancements towards User-Centricity 🙍‍♂️

  • Addition of search and pagination to the People tab in the Admin panel which has made managing people faster
  • Search results are now Paginated for faster searching
  • Stronger password requirements
  • Field names are better and human-friendly
  • Better filter names.
  • Data types can now be inferred for custom columns to show you the right filter options for that column
  • Links to docs to help the user connect databases
  • Debugging faulty formulas is easier with the help of friendly custom expression error messages
  • Visibility into database connection pooling is better
  • A link can be set up for a chart once preventing the repetition of the same process when adding a the chart to a dashboard

Improved Query Performance 🎯

We have upgraded database and put in place query performance analysis tools. We’ve enhanced the way we report SQL errors in queries so we can diagnose them more easily. This uncovers slow and frequently used queries so we can figure out which queries need improvement caching (or rewriting).

JOINs with multiple columns 💡

By leveraging multiple column conditions for your JOINs, you can now develop more complicated queries while staying in the Custom Chart editor. You can also specify the granularity of the JOIN criterion for dates, which was previously limited to month and year.

Other improvements ⚡

If you have a chart with a lot of series, you’ll now get a nicer, scrollable legend that shows the names of each series appropriately. You may still hover over them to make them stand out and click on them to drill down. Also, now when you scroll down, you can still see/change filter parameters without having to scroll up and down.
